Lets celebrate This is your moment, this is your moment This is the time, this is the time To get it right tonight, to get it right You don’t wanna let the moment pass you by So common and take this one in a photograph Everything I made as right, I made as loud The night is young and we raise our glass We’ll make it count like the best one we ever had The best one yet, the best one yet "The Best One Yet" - Black Eyed Peas

Champagne and Raspberries
Sunday 1/16
Today was so fun! I woke up and Sharon took me to another teacher’s house to hang out. She is thirty and an American named Shaw. She was babysitting a 7 year old girl while her mom was working out. It was in a gated community that was so pretty! When her mom, Lee, got back she drove us around so I could do some sightseeing. We went to lunch and we all split three local dishes. It was so good!! After lunch Lee took us to her house. We hung out and sat in the sun while her kids played in the pool. Shaw’s friend met us there and we walked around the waterfront for a little. When we got back to where Shaw was housesitting she shared a bottle of champagne with raspberries. Sharon came and picked me up shortly after. We had dinner at home. Sharon and Danie grow all of their vegetables in their yard so dinner was so good!! Sharon, Danie, Michael, Laura, and I watched New Moon after dinner and then I just went to my room and went to bed. It was a great day!!!
Monday 1/17
Today was very low key. There is a little deck off of my room and I sat outside and read for a while. Danie warned me not to sit in the sun for long. He told me that the hole in the ozone layer is currently over South Africa. I obviously did sit in the sun for to long and I got very burnt. When Sharon got home from school she took her daughter and I into town. While they were at the bank I went to look around in some shops. I ran into one of the girls I hung out with the day before. It was great to see someone I knew! Also, I got a South African phone! I feel a little more connected to everyone now.
Tuesday 1/18
I am just hanging out in my room again today. It is seriously the WORST not having a car! I am getting a little stir crazy because I can’t walk anywhere safely either. School starts tomorrow though! I am very nervous and excited. I have been trying to figure out what to wear all day! I organized my room more today and hung up my scarves and necklaces to make it feel more like home. Note to self: Next time I come to South Africa, BRING IPOD SPEAKERS! It is to quiet in my room. Sharon gave me an extra CD player/radio. Hillary – PLEASE SEND CDS!! J I sat outside again today for a little. It is so hot! I love it! The only downside is that I am showering like twice a day. I am rationing my Moroccan hair oil like it is water and I am on a deserted island. These past few days have been the calm before the storm. I am enjoying the rest and relaxation while I can. Surprisingly I am really enjoying all of the alone time but tomorrow is going to be so much fun! I cant wait to meet all of the staff and students. Everyone seems so close and wiling to help each other in any way. It is a little scary at night, but I might see if Prada, the German Shepard will sleep in my room tonight. I will post pictures ASAP!!!
