We Made It!!!!

We are finally here! I have never ever been on planes that long in my entire life. I did not know what I was in for!  I am pretty sure Mimi was about to throw me off the plane. We got in at like 12:30 AM last night and fell right to sleep (with help from a little Advil PM). It is 6:15 AM here and Mimi is still sleeping like a baby ;-) in our room.  Today's goal is to acclimate ourselves with the time change by filling today with as many activities as possible! No sleeping until at least 9! Our hotel is great! Although I have not been able to explore much yet, the people are really nice and there is a ferris wheel outside of our window that lights up at night! When Mimi wakes up we are going to have breakfast and hopefully go to Table Mountain! Apparently the top of Table Mountain has the best views of the city. The man who drove us from the airport to our hotel said that it is the first thing we should try to do while we are in Cape Town because it is often closed if there is the slightest bit of wind.  Also tomorrow morning we are getting picked up at 7:00 am to go shark diving!! Hopefully I will live to blog another day!

Shout out to Cindy Kells! Thanks for booking this trip! It has been awesome already!!

The Night Before Knsyna...

It is the night before I leave and I am sitting in Hillary's bed downloading songs on my new ipod that Betsy gave me! I am getting very excited and nervous!  Mimi is going to Cape Town with me for the first 9 days of my trip.  We will be going shark diving and going on a safari!  I am new to blogging so I will do my best to post as frequently as possible.  Please excuse any spelling mistakes.  I will most likely be posting on my Nook and it does not have spell check! Feel free to comment with any suggestions for my blog, travel, etc.

This is the house where I will be staying in Knynsa.  I copied this picture from Google Earth.  If you would like to view more of the street, neighborhood, etc. you can type in the address (29 Salie Ave. Knynsa, South Africa 6571). I will be staying with one of the faculty members of Oakhill School, where I will be student teaching.  She recently got married and is living with her husband and her husband's son.  I will have an apartment type room over the garage. I cannot wait to get there and will upload pictures as soon as I can!
